Some of the biggest mechanical changes to the core loop of Sapphire are in this patch, if you have not already seen the last Sapphire Documents Issue where we go over the Photo Stacking mechanic and other small changes the jist is that now Photos are stacked together if taken roughly in the same location and time frame. It should lead to a very diverse Monpedia and allow players to focus on taking lots of photos instead of conserving their photo roll.
A huge sweeping balance patch has taken place on the Island as well, now creatures will take up General actions and stay inside them for longer. You will see fewer aimless wandering around, and more activities and intercourse.
The Monsutra has also received some love, with 21 new sex animations added to the game, some of which are multi-gendered and work on every combination. With this, we now have a good amount of content for those who never want to see a dong. Speaking of dongs, Jamie can now come packing heat! She can choose from a regular meat dong or a strapon cosmetic! The strap-on affects her standard costume as well, for a little extra somethin’.
Achievements and Expedition Logs are now fully trackable via the Collections tab in the Guide Book. From here you’ll have a nice way to keep track of everything you can discover in Sapphire Safari! You can also now replay the Expedition Logs from the menu as well! Achievements are a very nice addition to the game, and bookend the completion experience Sapphire Safari is moving towards. There might be some oddities in how they are currently tracking, but things will be smoothed out as we develop the system more.
The main menu has received a nice overhaul as well, we have updated buttons for news postings, social, community, bug reporting, and our lovely roadmap. No matter the version you’re playing these will always be up-to-date! The save slots have also received a new coat of paint! Each slot shows off the chosen photographer and his/her stats in the game! We also added a fourth save slot!
NOTE: The completion counter WILL be buggy for saves older than version 024, you can continue to play the old saves but you will see some interesting numbers and such, this will affect the Photography License upgrades as well. Play Time and Photos Taken are new tracking metrics so older saves will have no data to load, it should track these going forward. For the best experience with this system please consider making a new save file.
We have finally admitted defeat with the cursed flashbang bug from the cum fluid system. So we have pulled it from the game. Instead, we are going with a customized Niagra Ribbon Trail system. It should remove any complication with FPS drops and still look very reasonable for ejaculate. It will be an ongoing mechanic though. Naturally, we also removed any system options related to those old systems.
Nighttime will no longer be dreadfully dark with the brand new hip lamp for the photographers, it will automatically come on during dusk and be disabled during the day, it does not do anything for the AI it mostly just smooths over the darkness that can sometimes be too overbearing in the game.

Played the demo. Had fun. Experienced a few bugs but nothing too notable that hasn't already been listed
Great to see some large progress! Its starting to look a lot better now.
The strapon/Futa option is great considering most animation before did not work for Jamie basically forcing two saves for full enjoyment.
Mind I would love if the strapon option would allow for it to be removed depending on the pose (I am sure some do not mind it being in every animation, but it would be nice if it would disappear if one wished).
The combined picture snaps also save some time, but you are now not able to assign more than on shot in the same series to different types or mons. Mind this would not be bad if repositioning would not likely alert the mons and as well as lose you the perfect photo (the perfect photo triggers and does not reaper unless there is a trigger again after you reposition).
It would be great that till you decide how to handle the pink moon event stuff, to just enable a skip to pink moon button at the bed instead of requiring time consuming clicking (especially since most of the Monsutra basically requires it to find most of the poses).
There seems to still be the problem with Purple moon, if one moves too fast too far unaffected mons start to spawn in and it gets a bit less "eventful".
Another good addition would be if one could more easily climb on top of smaller rocks and other vantage points to take shots as currently depending on terrain it can be very hit or miss especially if you need to hide in the grass which will generally obscure shots. Alternatively tweak the alert system so it does not rise if you very slowly sneak closer (right now the alert will go up, if you come to close regardless if you are moving or not).Also I am starting to see some of the cave entrances being populated as well at night with creatures sleeping in the entrance. This gives some ideas as to maybe have predators move their pray there and have some fun with em (example if player gets caught close to a cave they wake up in said cave giving more options for poly scenes).
Adding location specific behavior would be nice as well, there are what appear to be communal areas all over the place (with the large round flat rocks), which would be great for more clear shoots.
What would also be fun is if one engages in Monsutra the surrounding mons might watch and start to play as well (right now they pose or run away as if nothing is going on).
Also maybe up the aggression on the hunting mons? A lot of the times the hunter just walks past all the potential pray and never really does anything. The hunter can also have problems with pray walking in a straight line (jumps miss), so you kinda need to help with a rock throw to stop the pray from walking away.
Similar problem with the spore pods, they are very inconsistent in hitting anything that walks past, preferably anything that walks trough the cloud would get affected, not just the one or two mons that are there the moment it blows.
On the topic of spore pods you could have the option to pick up a pod and throw it (which I am sure you plan to in the future).
On the topic of traps, the vine traps are now sometimes bugged, the mon stands locked in the trap in a standing pose, while the trap animation plays, but the mon still alerts (not being able to move) and you can interact with it with F if friendly.
I am not sure but I feel that there is now a lot more sounds, but a lot of em are hard to distinguish if its just normal sounds or the sounds of two or more mons in the act (lots of slapping/moaning that I see no reason if nothing is going on). I am guessing a lot of it is placeholder stuff.
Anyhow keep up the good work, looking forward to see more!
That is a lot of feedback let me generalize some of it together real quick.
- We are not entirely sure how we wanna have pink moon, cos it can work on any moon phase mechanically but lore wise we have it set to full moon, but that can change easily enough.
- Climbing isn't something we wanna add, as I feel the locomotion is a reflection of the areas you are in. Also each region will have unique issues to deal with regarding photography. The plains just happens to have tall grass.
- Nest is when we will overhaul the caves, don't worry too much about how they are right now. Very WIP.
- Communal areas are related to event sites, which is a future update.
- Spore pods will eventually be updated to include all spored mons, but its a limitation of the current ai system using statetrees.
- Sounds is a tricky one, but its likely there are just too many sounds atm, we need to tweak this.
For everything else let us get a launch outta the way and then we can move onto the AI Lifestyle Director which will fix a lot of the concerns you have brought up here.
Hello, I have suggestions for improvement:
It would be better with the new image stack system that when you select an image it no longer automatically jumps forward to the next stack if you have several and when you have only one stack or the last stack of images you are no longer automatically asked if you want to submit them because you usually have several bliders in a stack mostly for several categories.
It would also be useful to improve that if you have one or more stacks of images with one or more mon, e.g. with Hoereno and Bunets, the rating is displayed for the categories where you have not yet selected an image but have selected an image from the stack of images (which you have just photographed) so that you don't get confused.
So the first suggestion is a good one but perhaps we make a toggle for that so players can choose.
For the second I am a little confused about your description of the suggestion. Can you help me understand better?
Man, you all have really upped the game (literally and figuratively) with the past two updates. Having a blast so far. Really evolving into something great. The new positions in the Monsutra... bruh. Pure gold. Even outside the porn stuff, the photography scoring is IMMENSELY better than it used to be, the storyline is starting to take shape, and the logs are building up the lore. Oh, and thank you for the hip lamp! Really looking forward to watching the game grow!
A couple QoL items I'd love to see as someone that's put in way too many hours running around Sapphire Island but understands that player wants can't always just be indefinitely added to software development cycles:
- A way to see Malous' physical form without having to look thru the camera (perhaps a future quest where the player finds a mysterious item that allows the player to control Malous' visibility?). A simple menu toggle would suffice (a la Jamie's dong), but having the player "control" Malous like that would be fun too.
- Most Monsutra acts end and fade to black right at the climax, would be nice to have a couple seconds of "cooldown" after climax before fading to black and resetting the player. Like "spit roast" after climax the characters all just seem to relax a bit, although I've noticed I have to toggle the skip as they just stay that way if I don't!
- The facial expressions in some of the new Monsutra acts are phenomenal (i.e. throat swab, middle management, the smirk on the girl on the right in full gape, even in an original like knight is a favorite). I'd love to see the facial expressions be more expressive across the board during Monsutra acts. Overall they're great, some of them the girls look a bit bored, would be so much more immersive if the facial expressions were all more expressive.
- I miss the pink moon button. I don't think I've come across a threesome act outside of the pink moon event, so trying to fill out the Monsutra takes a lot of spamming the skip time feature to get to the next pink moon. I know it's based on the full moon and it's every 14 in-game days, but would love if it was more frequent, OR maybe if nighttime becomes inherently more dangerous for the player to be out walking around? Like, once it's nighttime the girls just become even more "active" if you get what I mean?
- The bees. They tend to dominate wherever they are. Would love to see them less horny all the time, especially during pink moon events they seem to be everywhere. IDK, they just don't do anything for me, pie-in-the-sky I'd love a toggle to disable them altogether, haha. Or mute their constant screaming.
- Love the new profile loading screen with the photographer IDs. Would love to be able to delete saves from here. I have two pre-v023 saves that keep showing up (somehow, not sure how they're still showing as they're not in the same location where the game was installed starting with v023) that I'd like to get rid of via the UI if possible.
- So mean to tease the tigress on the homepage here on itch when she's not in the game yet! I tease, but also, seriously guys, I want the kitty haha.
A couple minor issues I have noticed:
- Every so often I start an interaction with a girl and my character stays fully clothed. If I move the camera my player moves with the camera, and if I just tap the skip button the player immediately pops out of the animation and the girl crumples to the ground. Trying to figure out if it's certain acts or if it's just random but haven't figured out any sort of rhyme or reason to it yet. Re-engaging the same girl after she resets tends to work fine, this issue doesn't immediately repeat itself.
- The character collisions during Monsutra acts seems to be a little more off than it was previously. Stuff isn't lining up quite right, more in the newer positions but have noticed it in some of the old ones too. But hey, I know you were focused on the demo release, I'll take the new acts and wait for them to be polished up :)
- In the cave on the east side (Furloin nest?), I can pretty consistently fall out of the map just by standing or moving in the area in the screenshots below. Exploring the locked areas has been pretty cool (so cannot wait for the new biomes!) but wanted to make you aware.

1. We will have a QOL update for the sex camera system in the future which will have a Malous form change along with player clothing visibility.
2. I agree about the climax stuff, we will work on this. Being able to see the goo is ideal.
3. We will look into ways to spice up the faces in older animations.
4. I am considering ways to make pink Mmoon more active, we might just make it random at night time, but I do enjoy your idea on making nights way more horny in general.
5. Yes, the bees. Yes. Yes indeed. We will look into it.
6. I want to spend a bit more time working out how to clean this up. BUT! If you go to /username/appdata/local/sapphiresafari/ you can delete save files related to your older saves here. They will be removed from the game as well.
7. Just means you need to think about her more. The reason we have not added her is simply that she is way larger than any other Mon in the game right now (large classification) which makes the animations with her not work at all. A problem for us in the future for sure.
8. The rotation should have been fixed in this build. I will have to pass it on to the team that it's still happening.
9. The collisions are being worked on right now for the next patch. We have zero IK in the game, that will change now so everything will look way nicer.
10. That nest is the Bat Nest. So nest areas are very very WIP. It's not unexpected that you fell through the floor there.

4. Yeah, if nighttime was "dangerous" I think it would add a great element to the game, personally. Once you hit 'friendly' familiarity with all the mons, the island feels a little "too" safe. I think the most fun I have in-game is during pink moon events where there's chaos everywhere, I'm running around constantly on the move so I don't get jumped, but I'm also trying to get photographs so balancing having my head on a swivel while also trying to get the best shot. It's anarchy in the best way. What about this? Regular nighttime has an uptick of activity similar to a pink moon event, but during the actual pink moon event, it's all-out chaos, all the mons are constantly going at it and being extremely aggressive towards the player. That way, pink moon events are like the ultimate survival challenge. Could even make it an achievement "didn't get boned during a pink moon event"!

Can you give me more details on how you did it? The location, your setup in the settings, etc. Perhaps you had frame lag, etc.
Its random location doesn't matter, and my settings are the default settings
I've even tried re downloading the game nothing seems to work

i think it would be cool if wolfs the crocs and other real world preds would stalk you if they saw you and only attack you once you turned around to look at them
We had an idea to include a predator that is just spawned to track you down. But the reality of that means that the player will 100% at some point get caught. Which isn't what we want.
