Cuddle Mechanics v0.0.2


Welcome back to the tasteful beaches of Sapphire Safari! We have been hard at work to build this month’s release and while it took a little longer than expected we still need roughly another month to fully get the new interaction mechanics fully in place. What you will find in this build is by no means the final representation of the mechanics, more that we wanted to share our progress as it stands.

The system in question is the interaction system, this is by far the most elaborate system we have attempted to develop which has given us a lot of issues mostly around how to present the options but also how to implement controls based on gestures. 

The initial interaction system can be broken down in the following manner:

  1. Walk up to the idle monster girl of your choice around the campsite (the full version will open up all monsters for this interaction) and hit the interact button when prompted.
  2. The camera will position itself in a first-person mode. From here you will be able to rotate the camera with right-click, zoom in using the mouse wheel. You can also move your hand icon over the “Tools” and “Positions” tabs on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Hovering over the “Positions” tab will open the menu (this design is temporary), to select the position of the monster girl simply click the left mouse button and drag it onto the monster girl of your choice.
  4. Hovering over the “Tools” tab will open the menu (this design is temporary), to select the tool you wish to use simply click the left mouse button and drag it into the direction of the area you wish to apply it (Breasts, Anus, Vagina, Mouth), before releasing it there will be a visible X-Ray of the insertion depth. Slide your hand to the depth you desire, where the deeper the insertion the faster the animation will play. You can apply as many tools as you like to the monster girl for the areas that support it. Dragging the tool away or changing positions will reset the tool to the menu.
  5. Press “Tab” to remove yourself from the interactions systems.

Currently, the model is going to use a mixture of animations layered on top of each other to create the perfect feeling of interaction regardless of how many tools are being used. Future builds of Sapphire Safari will have a vastly deeper interaction model including model posing, hand interactions (fingering, grabbing, stroking), facial reactions, multiple girl sessions, liquid simulations, and cheek ripples.

V0.0.2 Changelog

Added:

  • Interaction system first pass: Interact with the three monster girls waiting idly for you next to your camp, this pass is focused on the animation blending systems and basic UI interactions.
  • Controller Support: Now you can play on a gamepad, the controls are still up for debate since we need to push a lot onto that controller to get things working. Most menus have controller support (minus the camp computer).
  • Modified options menu: these are temporary for now to avoid any bugs caused by the old system we had. This new version showcases the keybinds for both controller and mouse+keyboard setups, along with basic video and audio systems.
  • Basic Pause menu: Pressing escape during gameplay will now take you to a pause menu instead of force quitting the game.

Fixed:

  • Main menu lag: The menu has been replaced with a video, this should resolve all issues with the black loading screen from the first build. 
  • Player animation controller simplified: Player controller drastically simplified. Known issues Some animations are missing (crouch idle). When first spawned player may be stuck in the ground. Jumping will unstick the player.
  • Player interaction simplification: Instead of needing to look at an object to interact, a prompt will be displayed when in the radius of an interactable object. Priority is given to the closest object.

Known Bugs:

  • Sometimes the girls moving around the island seem to have a broken walk cycle that will give them an odd look or the powers of flight. Good bug.
  • “Tools” can attach upside down for some models.

so I got an issue no matter how many times I start up the game 

So this is pretty much what happens game loads up fine I’m thrown in I see the world loading but for whatever reason the game decides I’m not on the ground at all and I’m sent free falling through the map all I see is an tent when I get in then I’m sky diving 

Side note I didn’t play the previous version 

if you're playing the latest version (we added a hot fix quickly to itch) you will have a few fixes for it. But if the game is still doing it you can head into the options menu and set a delay for spawning. It should fix it then.

WASD keys stopped working for me.

Can you give more details on the issue? Did you play the previous version? Where do the keys work and where do they not work?

Alright, to go into more details:
Yes I did play the previous version, and the WASD keys stopped working there. So I Uninstalled the game. I installed the new version.
I have checked the settings, and the mapping isn't changed. Whoever for an unknown reason WASD stopped working.

I fixed it via going into appdata local folder, and deleting the game files there.

My thought was that it was some bugged user settings or something. Did you attempt to modify the keys in the original version?

negitive, however i did attempt to use the xbox controller

Yeah not sure what caused it. I know this version needed a new save to a degree to get the controls to work in the interaction enviroment.
