Road Map and System Requirements

Hello everyone! Just a quick blog to say that we have just posted a roadmap and the Minimum + Recommended System specs for your systems. You can find both on the home page here on Itch so it is nice and clear.

We hope to have all this done within a couple of months, but you know how development goes.

We have also made a price drop to better reflect the current state of development of the game. Previously we were in a constant sale state, which led to some confusion within the community as to our asking price of the game. Now this should be a lot clearer. The new price is 12.99$ USD which will stay this way until after we launch on Steam and develop more regions of exploration on Sapphire Island.

I know this is super late, but do you guys have any plans to make this steam deck compatible? Ive been trying to get it to work but it just loads into a black screen

I am not fully familiar with the desktop operations of the deck OS but it's related to vulkan drivers. Just make sure they are up to date, otherwise yes! When we get closer to steam we will be passing compatibility verification before the early access launch.

do you think a 1050Ti would still work fine or would it be safe to start thinking about upgrading for your future updates?

(+1)

The 1000 line is where we started our testing for sure. It's not going to get you peek performance for sure but you'll be fine.

(+1)

ok that's awesome was just hoping for mid performance

(1 edit) (+2)

how do you calculate the exact requirements for a game?, i always have that question

(+2)

Mostly testing on hardware and finding a suitable fps range above 30. We also know we have requirements for taking photos and what that does to a system, were it is stored etc.

Updates take as long as they take. It's awesome to see you actively updating. This is my best itch.io purchase ever. Love watching the character and animation progress. I first got this on my steam wishlist about a year ago and then found out recently I could buy it on itch.io to support you. So glad I did. This is such a unique game premise and a subject I really like. I'm always so happy to see my update email and get to see the games progress. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much BMW! Good choice in pony as well!

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Haha Forgot to update my pic. It's all about the Starlight now.

Thanks for the kind words, glad you like the effort we are making!

you telling me i wont be able to play it?

(+4)

Because of the system requirements? This is just what we have been able to test with as the lowest minimum for 30fps.

(-2)

yes before i was able to play with my gt 730 but now i cant anymore i play at 10 fps rn and before 30 fps

There is a lot more optimization to go into the game like the spawn director will limit the overhead on the npcs in game and ai calls. But can you tell me more about the issues? Have you tried running at a lower resolution and making the photo capture a smaller size? Turning off shadows etc?

(-2)

everything was low

Did you change the photo output? Specifically, one main bottle neck for older systems is the access to over head VRAM. As photos before they are "stored" aka submitted are stored there. The smaller total VRAM you have access to the worse the game tends to run as you're taking photos. As for actual game performance (just running around the world) CPU helps with processing the AI calls, and GPU helps with graphical calls. Turning off shadows will help a lot, the same can be said for post processing.

So in short:
1. turn off shadows
2. set photo output to 1280x720
3. lower your resoultion
4. try running the game using the Vulkan graphical setting .bat found in the main directory of the game
5. consider the option that an unreal engine 5 game might be a little too much for your old system, we cannot forever support older systems, we are also a team of 5 people so we wont be able to compare to the likes of epic for fortnite  etc.
