HOTFIX v022d.hf2


Hello Photographers! Feedback is still rolling in after the excellent v022d patch dropped. So much so that we have another optimization and crashfix Hotfix ready for you all to enjoy! First though a couple of big pieces of news.

As of today, we will be dropping Linux native support.

The reason for this is simply that we are unable to efficiently support the development of the game on that operating system. Each unique branch of Linux comes with its complications and we are simply unable to test on a wide enough install base to make sure we catch everything. I have been told by our customers who do use Linux that the game runs perfectly fine using WINE and Proton, so please look to that solution if you’re one of the handful of customers on the system.

Regarding the optimizations, we have focused on reducing lag spikes from dynamic systems in the game. The first comes from ejaculation fluid sims, previously it was CPU bound, and now it is GPU bound using Raytracing to accomplish sticking to meshes. It does mean however anyone using DX11 cards will only be able to use the particle system and not fluid sims.

We have also fixed a lag spike focused on the computation resources needed to score photos as the game was creating a bunch of temp assets all within a single frame of gameplay as photos are taken. This leads to a spike surge in resources being used during gameplay which sometimes leads to overloading hardware. Now that process is spread across several frames of gameplay, meaning the spike is no longer overwhelming.

the same error over and over again, I created a new save and when I completed the puzzle to release a new creature, the game crashes, and always when it's close or at night, which is when the creature spawns, fix this soon, I can't enter my save because the game already crashes. This creature is crashing my game, and I don't know why.

I assume you're on amd? The crash is related to your hardware and unreal engine. Please do the following.

1. If you could share your hardware specification it would help with further debugging

2. Try lowering video settings

3. Try different window modes 

4. If using any resource intensive software in background, try closing them

5. If using undervolt on GPU, try using stock settings

6. Try removing all files in C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\SapphireSafari\Saved\Config and C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\SapphireSafari\Saved\SaveGames\Settings

7. You could try using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove GPU drivers and install them fresh

i found a soft lock, if u try to climb a chain as u get grabbed by a flower it will soft lock and you will be unable to move, only fix i found was to restart

Excellent work as usual, by the way I've noticed that the map does not reveal the fog of war when activating beacons, going to the menu and back into the game does reveal it though so only a minor thing.

Make sure you guys take care of yourselves.

My understanding is that it is tied to frame rate stuff. So if you had any hitches during reveal it can like... bug out that part of the save. We will look into it as it's not 100% consistent like I would like.
