Hello Employees! Welcome to another developer blog for Under Contract! Lots to discuss, so let's dive right in!

Narrative Lock

As of now, the Introduction for and first half of the Finance Department aka Department 2 aka Chapter 2 of Under Contract has been completed. The total word count comes in at just over 25,000 words. To put that into perspective, the entire game that is available to the public right now is only 30,000 words. This would make department 2 twice the size of department 1!

This was a joint effort with our writing staff and the art team to make sure it all came together cohesively. Also, we did way too much research on MLM and Pyramid Schemes to write the jokes we have, so we hope you all enjoy the content once it is ready. The next step is to push it all into the game, which means transcoding all that text into the game's LocKit. Then translation, and LQA. 

Art and Sex Scenes

Since our last Dev Blog, we have created a whole bunch of art and new characters to fill out the ranks of the Finance Department. It is my pleasure to introduce to you Mare and Puck, our two spunky twin demons who are the two minions Richard will face off against.


These two are a spunky collection of Sass, Wit, Ambition, and Incompetence. Quite the dynamic duo!

Naturally, Richard will get a slice of both girls as he adventures around the new landscape, with fully animated scenes, which include cumming animation and post cum animations. Something our audience has been asking for!


We also will be updating the Arcade mode to include 15 new reward images for our new girls Sinder, Mare, and Puck! So look forward to that as well!


The department overworld is also being built, naturally, since the Finance Department is a giant Pyramid Scheme, it makes sense that the world reflects this. So cash and jewels lay scattered around the landscape, and the dusty sands and hard stone slabs make up the environment that is literally a pyramid from Egypt. Both in design, and layout!


The final layout will change around a bit, but this is how we are looking right now.


The blue areas represent the first area of the department we are working on, the rest will come at a later date.

I love that the team sat down and came up with a creative node system for the finance department and i love it.  It helps make the other world make sense in a way.  I do have a question. Regarding the landscape pictures up above, is the team considering making the overworld map kind of like how mario party does its game boards?  I think that'd be awesome.  Of coure animating Richard and the residents of the departments would be a lot to do, but it's something cool I think.  

Yeah they are animated atm, I don't think it will turn into a board game though.
